What are your feelings about the Senate plan minus the reconcilliation package? Knowing that it is possible the Senate doesn't accept reconcilliation, the original Senate plan goes through as law, correct?

If the Senate doesn't agree with said provision, it just back to the House for another vote, which happens almost every time and I'm expecting it to this time.

The question then would be, what about if the backdoor deals that were struck, couldn't pass the Senate, that this whole thing could come tumbling down for now.

The reconciliation bill will pass for 2 major reasons: 1) If the bill fails EVERY senator that votes against it will be blamed come election time with not doing their best to protect the American people because they didn't pass legislation to close loopholes and improve the shortcomings of the original healthcare bill and 2) If the bill gets sent back to the House, there is a huge chance that a public option gets added to the reconciliation bill. And both parties know there are now enough votes in both the House and Senate to make the public option a reality.. which is the last thing the GOP wants to see because then the Democrats would have a total victory on healthcare. For that reason, I wouldn't care to see the GOP manage to send the reconciliation back to the House..but for the sake of their party it would be stupid politicly to do so..and they know that. They are learning the hard way the difference in dealing with a President that is always two steps ahead of them instead of one that is always two steps behind. Since Obama crashed the GOP retreat a couple months ago, he's had 'em for lunch ever since.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....

Possibly, but it could return and you lose those backroom deals and those votes. Its a slippery slope.
